How to Avoid Paying Interest on Purchases

About the Variable APRs on Your Account: We use the highest Prime Rate listed in the The Wall Street Journal on the last business day of each month. For the non-promotional purchase and balance transfer APR, we add 12.49% to 23.49% to the Prime Rate (Maximum APR 29.99%) based on your creditworthiness and other factors. For the cash advance APR, we add 23.99% to the Prime Rate (Maximum APR 29.99%). See your Cardmember Agreement for more detail. The APRs noted above are current as of 09/30/2024 using a Prime Rate of 8.0%.

Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means to you: When you apply for an account, we will ask for your name, street address, date of birth, social security number, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see copies of identifying documents. We also ask for country of citizenship.

Balance Transfers. Here's How it Works: To request a balance transfer please enter the 15/16 digit account number from the Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover Card account that you want us to process a balance transfer from. If the total amount you request exceeds the assigned credit line on your new account, we may either decline the request or send a partial payment to your creditor(s). The amount of available credit on your new account will be reduced by the amount transferred and the related balance transfer fees. We reserve the right to decline to process any requested balance transfer. We will not process a request to transfer a balance from any other account you may have with us. Balance transfers incur interest from the transaction date. You should not transfer the amount of any disputed purchase or other charge. If you do, you may lose your dispute rights.

Upon approval of your application we will process the requested balance transfer payment to the account(s) which you have requested on the 10th day after we've mailed you your card; during this 10 day time period you may cancel your balance transfer by contacting us at the number on the back of your card. A balance transfer may take up to 4 weeks to post to your other accounts. Continue to pay each creditor until the balance transfer appears on the other account as a credit. If you would like to complete a balance transfer from another account that is not a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover Card account, please call the phone number on the back of your new credit card once you are approved. Balance transfers are subject to availability. We may deny balance transfer requests at any time and for any reason.

How to Avoid Paying Interest on Purchases (excluding Easy Pay):  You can avoid paying interest on purchases if you pay your purchase balance subject to interest (excluding Easy Pay Offers) plus any monthly Easy Pay Payment Amount in full by the Payment Due Date every month. If you do not pay your purchase balance subject to interest (excluding Easy Pay Offers) plus any monthly Easy Pay Payment Amount by the due date each month, you will pay interest from the date purchases are posted to your account until the date you pay those Purchases in full. To avoid a late fee, you should pay at least the minimum payment due on your account each month.

Credit Limit: We do not permit applicants to request a specific credit limit. We do not consider a request for a balance transfer made with an application to be a request for a particular credit limit. We determine the credit limit on your account independent of and prior to processing any balance transfer request.

Cash Equivalent Purchases: The purchase of money orders, travelers' checks, foreign currency, lottery tickets, gambling chips, wire transfers and other similar transactions are treated as cash advances. Please see your Cardmember Agreement for details.

New York Residents: New York residents may contact the New York State Department of Financial Services by telephone (800) 342-3736, or visit the website, www.dfs.ny.gov, for free information on comparative credit card rates, fees and grace periods. 

Notice to Ohio Residents: The Ohio laws against discrimination require that all creditors make credit equally available to all creditworthy customers, and that credit reporting agencies maintain separate credit histories on each individual upon request.  The Ohio Civil Rights Commission administers compliance with this law.

Notice to Married Wisconsin Residents: No marital property agreement, unilateral statement or court decree under Wisconsin's marital property law will adversely affect our interests unless before your account is opened, you give us a copy of the agreement, statement or decree or we have actual knowledge of it. You understand that we may be required to give notice of this account to your spouse. Xbox gamertag on your card: For primary cardmember only. To be eligible to print, gamertag must only contain alphanumeric characters and/or spaces; no special characters allowed. Gamertag must comply with Microsoft Service Agreement, and Xbox Community Standards: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/legal/community-standards; if gamertag violates these standards, Barclays reserves the right to issue or reissue your card without a printed gamertag. If you change your gamertag after having it printed on your Xbox Mastercard, a replacement card will not be automatically reissued.

Information That We Collect & Share About You:
Barclays' Privacy Policy is available online at www.BarclaysUS.com. You agree that Microsoft and Barclays may share information about you and your account to administer rewards and benefits tied to the Xbox Mastercard.

Introductory Bonus Offer:
Earn 6,000 bonus card points after your first Net Purchase, within the first 180 days after Account open date. The bonus card points will be reflected on the billing statement after you have qualified to earn the bonus.

After completing your first Net Purchase within 180 days of your Account open date, you will receive a code from Microsoft that can be redeemed for 3 months of free Game Pass Ultimate for new Game Pass members. Please refer to your Xbox Mastercard Reward Rules for additional information about Game Pass Ultimate.
 
After making $7,000 in Net Purchases within 365 days of your Account open date, you will earn two additional 3-month codes to gift to family and friends to try Game Pass Ultimate for the first time. Please refer to your Xbox Mastercard Reward Rules for additional information about Game Pass Ultimate.

“Net Purchase(s)” means purchases made less credits, returns and adjustments.

XBOX MASTERCARD REWARD RULES

This document describes how the Xbox Mastercard Account rewards work and is an agreement between you and Barclays Bank Delaware. You agree that use of your Account indicates your acceptance of these Reward Rules. In this document, the following words have special meanings:

  • "Barclays", "we", "us", or "our" means Barclays Bank Delaware.
  • “Card” means any credit card or account number used to access your Account.
  • “Account” means your Xbox Mastercard credit card account.
  • “Cardmember Agreement” means the agreement that establishes the terms of your Account with Barclays that is linked to the Program.
  • “Good Standing” means your Account is not in default under your Cardmember Agreement.
  • “Net Purchases” means purchases made less credits, returns and adjustments.
  • “Program” means your Account rewards program.
  • "Reward Rules" means this document which is an agreement between you and Barclays.
  • “You", "Your" or "Primary Cardmember" means the person who is responsible for the Account and complying with the Reward Rules.
  • "Card Points" are the Program rewards currency earned for transactions made with your Account.

REWARD RULES ADMINISTRATION
The Program and Reward Rules are administered by Barclays. We reserve the right to modify, amend or terminate the Reward Rules at any time with or without notice. You can review current Reward Rules any time by logging in to your Account at BarclaysUS.com.

To maintain your eligibility for participation in the Program through the use of your Account:

  • You must maintain an open Account that is in Good Standing.
  • You must be an individual and use your Account only for personal, family or household expenses (corporations, partnerships, and other entities may not participate).

PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP
You must have an active account with Microsoft Corporation (“Microsoft”) called a Microsoft account, and you must have an Xbox profile associated with your Microsoft account to apply for the Xbox Mastercard. If your Microsoft account is closed, for any reason, you will forfeit Account benefits fulfilled by Microsoft (Game Pass Ultimate codes, Microsoft Rewards Benefits (as defined below), and redemption of Card Points toward eligible products through qualifying Xbox and digital Microsoft Store channels (“Redemption Eligible Purchases”). If your Microsoft account is temporarily suspended or otherwise locked, your access to Account benefits fulfilled by Microsoft will be unavailable during the time in which your account is suspended or otherwise locked.

Microsoft Rewards is a free Microsoft loyalty program that allows you to earn Microsoft Rewards points for various activities in the Microsoft ecosystem, like searching, gaming, and shopping. The primary cardmember will automatically have the Microsoft account associated with the Account upgraded to Level 2 status in the Microsoft Rewards program (“Microsoft Rewards Benefit”). Microsoft Rewards points (including, without limitation, points earned through Level 2 status) are not combinable with Card Points and are subject to the terms of the Microsoft Services Agreement (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/servicesagreement). 

Your Account, and any Card Points or other benefits earned through the Account, will be linked to the Microsoft account and Xbox profile associated with the primary cardmember that you provide at time of application for the Account. Your Microsoft account can only be linked to one Account at any time. If at the time of your application, your available Microsoft account cannot be linked to your Account, you will not be able to access Account benefits fulfilled by Microsoft (Game Pass Ultimate codes, Microsoft Rewards Benefits, and redemption of Card Points toward Redemption Eligible Purchases). An individual is eligible for only one Account regardless of the number of Microsoft accounts or Xbox profiles they may have.

Once the Account is linked to your Microsoft account at the time of application, the primary cardmember may change which Microsoft account is associated with their Account. When associating your Account with a new Microsoft account, the previous Microsoft account will no longer be able to redeem Card Points toward Redemption Eligible Purchases. Any Card Points earned to date will be accessible through the new Microsoft account.  Any unredeemed Game Pass codes can still be accessed through the email address associated with the original Microsoft account that was linked to your Account. Game Pass Ultimate codes which have already been redeemed will not be transferred. The new Microsoft account will also receive Microsoft Rewards Benefits.  If you want to change the Microsoft account for the primary cardmember, please contact Xbox Support.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CARD POINTS

  • As long as the Program continues and your Account is open and in Good Standing, there is no limit to the total Card Points you can earn using your Account and your Card Points will not expire.
  • You may not earn Card Points through the use of your Account during any period in which your Card Account is past due.
  • You will have 90 days from the date your Account is closed to redeem any outstanding rewards if your Account meets the minimum redemption amount and as long as your Account at the time of closure was not closed for any reasons outlined in the CARD POINTS FORFEITURE SECTION.
  • All Card Points earned through the use of your Account will be added to the Primary Cardmember’s Card Points We are not responsible for any disputes you may have with any authorized users on your Account about the Program.
  • If you do not receive credit for earned Card Points, please contact customer service using the phone number on the back of your Card.
  • You have no property rights or other legal interest in rewards. Card Points amounts have no cash value or value of any kind until they are fully redeemed. Card Points may not be transferred or assigned.
  • Participation in the Program is subject to all applicable laws and regulations. The sale or barter of any Card Points earned in the Program other than by us or Microsoft is expressly prohibited.
  • You are solely responsible for any taxes that may be owed as a result of Card Points earned and/or redeemed. Please consult your tax advisor if you have tax questions about the Program. Barclays will not provide tax advice.
  • You can view a summary of your Card Points earned through the use of your Account during the billing cycle on your monthly Account statement or by logging in to the Barclays customer service website listed on the back of your Card.

EARNING CARD POINTS
You earn Card Points for Net Purchases made by you and/or any authorized user(s) of your Account as follows:
5X Card Points
• You earn 5 Card Points for every $1 spent on Net Purchases made with your Account on eligible consumer products purchased through qualifying web, app and console-based digital Microsoft store, (“5X Eligible Purchases”). The most up-to-date details regarding 5X Eligible Purchases can be found at BarclaysUS.com/XboxMastercardRewards.

3X Card Points
• You earn 3 Card Points for every $1 spent on Net Purchases made with your Account on eligible dining delivery services. Eligible dining delivery services are limited to third party services which deliver on behalf of restaurants and businesses. This does not include delivery services operated directly by restaurants, or services which deliver recipe and ingredient preparation kits. The most up-to-date list of eligible dining delivery services can be found at BarclaysUS.com/XboxMastercardRewards.

  • You earn 3 Card Points for every $1 spent on Net Purchases of eligible streaming services. Streaming services include video, music and audio entertainment services. The most up-to-date list of eligible streaming services can be found at BarclaysUS.com/XboxMastercardRewards.

1X Card Points
• You earn 1 Card Point for every $1 spent on all other Net Purchases made with your Account.

Purchases must be submitted by merchants using the merchant category codes (and merchant identifiers) for purchases in the above-specified categories to qualify for the additional Card Points. Barclays and Microsoft are not responsible for incorrectly coded purchases. Additional Card Points may not be earned if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet to pay for the purchase. Additionally, purchases made through third parties, including online marketplaces and resellers, or using a third-party payment account will not earn additional Card Points.

Balance transfers, cash advances (including cash equivalent transactions such as, but not limited to, the use of your Card Account to obtain money orders, traveler’s checks, foreign currency, peer to peer payment app transactions and lottery tickets), fees, interest charges and unauthorized/fraudulent purchases are not considered Net Purchases and do not earn Card Points.

BONUS OFFER
From time to time, we may offer bonuses of Card Points or other incentives to cardmembers. You will be provided details when offered. Bonus offer details become part of your Reward Rules.

INTRODUCTORY BONUS OFFER
Your credit offer may contain additional information about qualifying events, exclusions, and restrictions. That information can be found by logging in to your Account online and visiting the Rewards and Benefits section or calling the number on the back of your Card. These bonuses and/or incentives are intended for applicants who are not and have not previously been Xbox Mastercard cardmembers. You understand and agree that you may no longer be eligible for any bonuses and/or incentives in connection with a new Xbox Mastercard Account after this Account is opened. If you receive a bonus or incentive for which you are not eligible due to your status as a current or former Xbox Mastercard cardmember, we may revoke the bonus or incentive, or reduce your Card Points by the amount of the bonus or incentive or charge your Account for the fair value of the bonus or incentive, at our sole discretion.

CARD POINTS REDEMPTIONS

  • The primary cardmember can redeem Card Points toward Redemption Eligible Purchases or for Xbox gift cards available through BarclaysUS.com, or by calling the number on the back of your card.
  • Any Authorized User(s) on the Account is only able to redeem Card Points for Xbox gift cards available through Barclays by calling the number on the back of the card.
  • Barclays and Microsoft are not responsible for unauthorized redemptions on your Account.
  • All redemptions are final. Card Points can’t be returned, refunded, exchanged or credited, unless otherwise specified.

REDEEM TOWARD MICROSOFT PURCHASES

  • You have the option to redeem your Card Points when you use your Xbox Mastercard to purchase Redemption Eligible Purchases.
  • Redemption Eligible Purchases may vary by qualifying Xbox and digital Microsoft Store channels.
  • The most up-to-date details regarding Redemption Eligible Purchases and how to redeem Card Points for statement credits toward purchases can be found at: xbox.com/xbox-mastercard/card-points-redemption.
  • To redeem Card Points for Redemption Eligible Purchases, you must have an active Microsoft account with an Xbox profile.
  • When completing a Redemption Eligible Purchase, you will be informed as to whether the redemption value will cover applicable taxes or apply solely to the pre-tax amount.
  • You may redeem Card Points at a 1% value (for example 1,000 Card Points can be redeemed for a $10 value) toward your Redemption Eligible Purchase.
  • When redeeming Card Points for Redemption Eligible Purchases, your Account will be charged for the full purchase amount, and a credit for the redemption value of your Card Points will be applied to your Account within 2-3 business days of your transaction posting. The credit will appear on your Account billing statement within 1 billing cycle. 
  • The minimum redemption amount toward Redemption Eligible Purchases is 100 Card Points (a $1 value).
  • Statement credits reduce your Account balance but cannot be applied toward any minimum payment requirement and are otherwise subject to the terms and conditions applicable to your Account.

GIFT CARD REDEMPTIONS

  • Gift cards are not exchangeable, refundable, transferable or redeemable for cash, cannot be replaced if lost or stolen and are void where prohibited.

CARD POINTS FORFEITURE
If your Account is closed for any of the following reasons, your Card Points earned will be forfeited if/based upon:
• You or any authorized user(s) on the Account engages in any fraudulent or illegal activity through the use of your Account, as determined by us at our sole discretion.
• You, or any authorized user(s) on the Account engage in any activity that is deemed to be abusive activity or rewards manipulation, as determined by us at our sole discretion. Abusive activity or rewards manipulation includes, but is not limited to, obtaining or using an account to maximize rewards earned in a manner that is not consistent with typical consumer activity and/or multiple credit card account applications/openings, as determined by us at our sole discretion.
• Your history of Account usage.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF YOUR ACCOUNT
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Disclosure

  • Game Pass Ultimate codes are valid for new Xbox Game Pass members in the 50 United States only.
  • Unless cancelled, Game Pass Ultimate subscription continues automatically at the regular monthly price when the promotional period ends. Complete Game Pass Ultimate subscription terms can be found at xbox.com/subscriptionterms.
  • Code must be redeemed by the expiration date provided when you receive the code. Limit 1 per Microsoft account.
  • Codes will be sent to the email address associated with the Microsoft account of the primary cardmember at the time the Codes are earned.
  • If gifting your Game Pass Ultimate code to a friend, the same offer terms apply.

Microsoft Rewards Benefits

  • The primary cardmember will automatically have the Microsoft account associated with your Account upgraded to Level 2 status in the Microsoft Rewards program after you activate your Xbox Mastercard. More information about Microsoft Rewards, including Level 2 benefits, can be found here:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/rewards/about.
  • If you change the Microsoft account associated with your Account, the original Microsoft account will no longer maintain Microsoft Rewards Level 2 status as an Account benefit. Note that if your Microsoft Rewards points qualify for Level 2 status as a result of your activity according to the Microsoft Rewards Program terms and conditions, that will not change.    

LIMITATION AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
By participating in the Program and accepting and using Card Points earned through the Program, you (on your behalf and on behalf of any person to whom you give the benefits from the Program) release, discharge and hold harmless Barclays, Microsoft and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, administrators, employees, officers, directors, successors and assignees from all claims, damages or liability including, but not limited to, physical injury or death, arising out of participation in the Program or travel taken or use of products purchased in connection with the Program. Barclays and Microsoft are not responsible for unauthorized redemptions on your Account. Barclays has no liability in case of disagreement over issuance of Card Points, items received through redemptions, or a cardmember’s right to redeem or possess Card Points. 

IMPORTANT GENERAL DISCLOSURES
Barclays reserves the right to correct inaccurate Card Points values represented on statements, our website and/or our mobile app, at our sole discretion. We may, at our sole discretion, cancel, modify, restrict or terminate the Program or any aspects or features of the Program at any time without prior notice. All interpretations of the Reward Rules shall be at our sole discretion. Other significant terms may apply. All trademarks and service marks belong to their respective owners. We are not responsible for typographical errors or omissions in this document, website, mobile app, or any marketing materials. Card Points cannot be combined with other discounts or reward programs unless specifically authorized by us or Microsoft.

Barclays is solely responsible for establishing these Reward Rules and for communicating with Microsoft as described below, to administer the Reward Rules. Game Pass Ultimate codes and any Microsoft Rewards benefits earned through the Program are fulfilled by Microsoft. Game Pass Ultimate and Microsoft Rewards are owned and operated by Microsoft and are not a product or program of Barclays.

Microsoft is solely responsible for establishing the terms and conditions governing products and services of Microsoft, including use of Game Pass Ultimate codes issued through the Program, use of gift cards toward Microsoft products and services, and the terms and conditions of your Microsoft account, Microsoft Rewards benefits, and any other account or profile that you may have with Microsoft. Microsoft reserves the right to change or cancel the terms and conditions associated with Microsoft products and services (including, without limitation, Xbox), at any time with or without prior notice.

You are solely responsible for any taxes that may be owed as a result of Card Points earned and/or redeemed. Please consult your tax advisor if you have tax questions about the Program. Microsoft will not provide tax advice.
